Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of steep.shashankthattai.dev(the “Site”), operated by Shashank Thattai (sole proprietor) (“we,” “us,” or “steep”). By accessing the Site, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Site, and at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to make a purchase. Accounts must use accurate information; we reserve the right to suspend accounts using false information.

2. Account responsibilities

• You're responsible for safeguarding your password and any second-factor device.
• You're responsible for activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
• You may not share your account credentials with others.

3. Orders & payments

• All prices are in US Dollars (USD) and exclude applicable taxes.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We accept cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link. We do not see or store card numbers.
• If automatic tax calculation is enabled, Stripe collects the appropriate sales tax based on your billing location.
• An order is confirmed only when Stripe captures payment and our webhook receives the success event.

4. Licenses to digital products

Every product purchased on the Site comes with a license granting you the right to use it. The default license is a single-seat commercial license:

• You may use the product in one (1) commercial project owned by you or your team.
• You may modify the product for your own use.
• You may NOT resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share the product in a form that competes with the original.

Some products offer team or unlimited licenses for additional fees; terms are listed on each product page. Each product may include its own LICENSE document — its terms supersede this section to the extent of any conflict.

5. Refund policy

We offer a 14-day refund from the date of purchase, provided your order has not yet been “delivered.”To request a refund, email shashankthattai@gmail.com with your order number.

“Delivered” means any of the following:

• You viewed the order confirmation page (where the download link / GitHub invite / share link is shown)
• You downloaded a file
• You accepted a GitHub repository invite
• A share link was emailed to you

Note:if you want a no-questions refund, request it BEFORE opening the order confirmation page or email link. Once the confirmation page is viewed, the order is marked “delivered” and refunds become case-by-case under the policy below.

After delivery, refunds are at our discretion — typically granted only for legitimate defects (broken file, missing content, file does not match the description). “I didn't end up using it” is not refundable once the order has been delivered, consistent with industry standards for digital goods.

Refunds revoke your license to the product. After refund you must stop using the product and remove all copies from your systems. GitHub repository invites are revoked.

Physical products

Physical orders follow a separate flow:

• Before shipment: full refund on request.
• After shipment / delivery: refunds are limited to damaged, wrong, or lost items. “Changed my mind” is not a valid reason once the carrier has the package.
• If a return is approved, you ship the item back at your expense in resaleable condition. Refund is issued when we receive it.
• Damaged-on-arrival claims must be made within 7 days of delivery, with photos.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the Site or any product to:

• Violate any law or third party's rights.
• Distribute malware, phishing pages, or harassing content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or any other user's account.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape at scale, or stress-test the Site without permission.
• Abuse our APIs (we'll terminate access at our discretion).

7. Intellectual property

The Site, brand assets, marketing copy, and all underlying source code are owned by steep. Purchased products are licensed to you per Section 4 — they are not sold. You retain ownership of any derivative works built using a licensed product.

8. Third-party services

Products may integrate with third-party services (Supabase, Stripe, Resend, GitHub, Vercel, etc.). You are responsible for complying with each provider's terms, paying their fees if any, and accepting their service-level commitments. We are not liable for their outages, billing changes, or policy decisions.

9. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free behavior, or that any product will meet your specific requirements.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL STEEP BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ANY PRODUCT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR (B) USD $50.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold steep harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party right.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Site if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time via /account.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of residence of the operator. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts of that jurisdiction, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. The “Last updated” date above shows the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
